Housed in a wooden building located in central Nemuro City, cafe MYWING was opened in 1985 by its owner, Mr. Yoshiki Komatsu. The building was brought to life through the efforts of Mr. Komatsu, who created a model and gathered people to help see it through completion. Inside, the hand-crafted furniture and gentle warmth of the space create a comforting atmosphere that makes it easy to linger longer than planned. Great care is also taken with the food. From curry made from scratch starting with the roux, generously topped pasta dishes, and toast made from homemade bread using Hokkaido-grown wheat, the extensive menu is meticulously crafted with a focus on local ingredients. “It takes time,” says Mr. Komatsu, “but in the end, flavor is what matters most.” What he is particularly devoted to is his house-roasted coffee.
