Premium ramen packed with shelled Hanasaki crab

Freshly boiled Hanasaki crab is sweet, plump and deliciousbut for those who find dealing with shells a bit of a hassle, rest assured—at Daihachi, all crab dishes are made using fully shelled crab meat. This restaurant truly puts its customers first. Among popular items is the Crab Ramen, featuring a light, salt-based soup made from chicken stock, paired with simple toppings that do not overpower the crabs flavor, and thin noodles. It is so good, it might even move you to tears. The restaurant was originally opened in 1972 by the parents of Yuko Otani, the wife of the current owner Ryoichi Otani. In 2011, it suffered major damage when ground subsidence and a tsunami flooded the refrigerators with sea water. The restaurant made a remarkable comeback thanks to the encouragement of loyal regulars. Being able to enjoy delicious crab without fuss is a luxurious treat.
