[Hamanaka Town] Coop Hamanaka
Exquisite sweets praised nationwide and embraced by the local community

At first glance, Coop Hamanaka looks like an ordinary supermarket. Yet people keep coming specifically for one reason—the Yon-Zero Ice Cream and Yon-Zero Shake, which went on sale in 2025. These products have been drawing attention for their use of Hokkaido 4.0 Milk from Takanashi Milk, which is made with carefully selected fresh milk from Hamanaka Town. The shake, which took three years to develop, was crafted with special attention to texture, delivering a rich, creamy mouthfeel that fully brings out the milk’s depth and natural sweetness. Due to strong customer demand, a dedicated shake machine was newly installed, leading to the product’s commercialization. The ice cream’s appeal lies in its accessibility, as it can be enjoyed at home and even during the winter months. Much like the soft-serve ice cream, which was originally created in response to local residents who were looking for something made with local milk, these products have become favorites among both locals and tourists. An offering you are unlikely to find anywhere else is the two-liter tub of ice cream made with Takanashi Milk. Through these products, the gifts of cows nurtured by the local residents find their way back home, bringing new value to the community.
